Product Review for Space Bags - 4 out of 5 stars

While some people do a little Spring cleaning, I on the other hand do a little Spring, Summer, and Fall into
Winter cleaning. As cheap as I am, I still purchase clothes and shoes for the household pretty often. Every
closet is packed (neatly), shoes are lined up and old clothes (or clothes I'm holding on for dear life to waiting for the
day I lose weight) are just waiting patiently in totes in the closets and attic. In addition to clothes taking up
space I already don't have, we have a lot of comforters. I don't know if it's because I'm from NY, but no
matter what the temperature is, I'll still wrap myself up in what I consider a comforter cocoon.
I sell what I can on ebay, place some clothes and blankets in bags for donation but for some reason, the room I thought I made still does not exist. This is when I have a "Ronda moment". I hear voices sometimes, and this voice is of that screaming woman from the Space Bag commercial, saying "Ronda, you have too much stuff and not enough space" so buy this! When that commercial comes on, I can swear she's speaking directly to me, but what she's saying never really registered, until...
I've had enough! It started to get really chilly here in FL, and after searching for my son's long sleeve polos for school, I hurt my risk pulling the darn tote out of his closet. I started thinking about ways to make this process easier for the next time, and it hit me! Space Bags! I went to a couple of stores I knew sold them, but I DID NOT like the price (not even in Mr. Walmart!). I was so tempted to buy the imitation and a woman in the aisle gave me a look that I believe meant "girl, don't by that!", so I decided to go home and search online. I knew I didn't want to wait for shipping, or even pay shipping because that would probably end up costing more than if I bought it locally. So, on my way home I decided to stop in Bed Bath and Beyond and I'm so glad I did, they had the bags in special value packs for a lower price. Add my coupon and I'm smiling really wide!!! I get home with my bags and I can't wait to try them to see if they're actually as good as the woman in the commercial made them seem. I have the totes and bags of clothes already waiting, and while I'm placing the items in the Space Bag, I realize, these bags are pretty strong. Here are the details:
Review: The bag is plastic, not thin like a plastic bag, but not very thick either. So if you overstuff the bag it can rip. It has a line that lets you know when to stop putting in clothes. The area to vacuum is supposed to fit a standard vacuum hose. My vacuum is of the standard size, but doesn't cover the hole fully. That did not matter in this case. I used my hand to cover the area not covered by my vacuum hose and it still sucked all the air out. The air came out, but the bags were not as flat as I thought it would be after vacuuming. I don't know if its because of the way I packed the clothes in or what, but it still gave me much needed room in my closets. 1 large Space Bag was able to handle a full kitchen size 13 gallon plastic bag of clothes (even though it said it would fit less, so I'm ecstatic about that). I will buy more. I gave it 4 out of 5 stars because after a while, a little bit of air comes back into the bag so it's not perfect, but it definitely served its purpose!
