Simply Snackin - All Natural on-the-go Protein Review
Simply Snackin - All Natural On-The-Go Protein Review

Yum! I love it when I get an opportunity to review something I can eat...especially when it tastes good! Thanks to the kind people at SimplySnackin.com, I received an assortment of gourmet dried beef and dried chicken meat to sample and review.
Take a look at the photos to the right. They may look like regular old beef jerky snacks, but they are not! They're actually healthy. Here are some details as listed on their web site (and on the snack packages):
Simply Snackin Gourmet Dried Meat snacks contain no artificial ingredients, in other words they are made up of 100% all natural ingredients.
They are only 60 calories each
Zero saturated fat
Nitrate / fillers free
8g to 11g of protein
Six flavors to choose from
3g to 5g of carbs
Most flavors are lactose free and gluten free
Usually, when I see all of the above mentioned in a snack, I automatically assume it will taste like cardboard. (By the way, I have tasted cardboard before, how else could I fairly compare the flavor of food too it?) That wasn't the case for these.
Available in:Beef Sirloin with Apples and Cherries
Beef Sirloin with Cranberries and Blueberries
Teriyaki Beef Sirloin with Pineapples
Teriyaki Chicken Breast with Mangoes and Papayas
Chicken Breast with Black Bean Salsa
Italian Chicken Breast with Romano Cheese
With my regular "business", I'm visiting local events often. When I'm not in the house on the computer and taking care of my children, I'm outside in the car driving to, or at an event. My usual on-the-go snack is a pack of fruit snacks made with maybe 5% fruit and 95% of some other stuff!
My family and I tried the sweet, fruity flavors first. During the taste test, I wasn't able to tell the fruits apart without looking at the wrapper. They were all equally delicious but my taste buds couldn't tell the difference between the Beef Sirloin Cran/Blueberries or the Apple Cherries. I also had a little bit of trouble distinguishing the Teriyaki Beef Sirloin with Pineapples from the Teriyaki Chicken Breast with Mangos and Papayas, but honestly I couldn't care less. I just wanted more! They're individually wrapped, and although it's dried beef, they're not dry like other jerkies to the point where I think the company has stock in dental companies.
My kids liked them all, hubby liked them all and I liked 5 out of the 6. The only flavor I didn't really like was the Italian Chicken Breasts with Romano Cheese. Thankfully on their web site I can order whatever flavors I choose! I am working on myself, trying to lose weight and eat healthier and these snacks will definitely be added to my list of do's.
FYI: Right now they're currently running a special.
